Mandi: The Indian Institute of Technology Mandi (IIT Mandi) is taking steps to boost academic and research collaboration by signing Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs) with key institutions.
These partnerships include individual agreements with Defence Research & Development Laboratory (DRDL), Hyderabad, NIT Uttarakhand, and Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology (SLIET), Longowal.
Dr. Kumar Sambhav Pandey, Registrar of IIT Mandi, expressed the institute's commitment to expanding academic and research alliances to enhance faculty and student exchanges and increase IIT Mandi's global presence.
The MoU with DRDL in Hyderabad focuses on collaborative research and academic interactions, with DRDL becoming an associated Research Center of IIT Mandi.
This collaboration allows off-campus Ph.D. and M.Tech. (Research) registrations for candidates selected by DRDL, as well as student exchange programs.
The MoU with NIT Uttarakhand facilitates academic and research cooperation, enabling Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) students from NIT Uttarakhand to take courses at IIT Mandi and potentially gain early admission to the PhD program.
The MoU with SLIET, Longowal, emphasizes research projects, joint supervision of Ph.D. students, workshops, seminars, and student and faculty exchange programs.
These collaborations are set for an initial five-year period with the potential for renewal. IIT Mandi is actively working to strengthen its academic and research networks to foster excellence.
