SHIMLA: HP PWD and SJVNL today signed a Rs. 70 crore MoU to widen key roads across Himachal. The Sunni-Luhri, MDR-22 (Gharat Nala-Khaira), and Shimla-Mandi (MDR-76 Dhali-Devidhar) roads will see major upgrades.
PWD Minister Vikramaditya Singh, at the signing event, called the move a "big step" towards improving road connectivity in rural and urban areas. He noted that better roads would boost local economies.
Singh also pushed for the Salapad-Tattapani-Sunni-Khaira-Luhri road to be declared a national highway, highlighting its strategic importance near the China border.
SJVNL CMD Susheel Kumar outlined ongoing projects in Sunni and Luhri. PWD Secretary Abhishek Jain and other senior officers were also present.
