Shimla: Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu dedicated developmental projects worth Rs. 73.43 crore at Nerwa in Chopal, Shimla district.

Addressing a gathering at Kupvi, he emphasized the government's commitment to the state's welfare, citing the implementation of various schemes within a year.

Highlighting achievements, Sukhu mentioned the fulfillment of five guarantees from their election manifesto, including the launch of the 'Indira Gandhi Pyari Behna Sukh Samman Nidhi Yojana', providing Rs. 1,500 per month to eligible women. Other accomplishments include the revival of the Old Pension Scheme, the Rajiv Gandhi Start-up Scheme, introduction of English medium in government schools, and support prices for milk procurement and natural farming produce.

Sukhu criticized the BJP for attempting to destabilize the democratically elected government and assured unity among government officials and MLAs. He announced further development plans for Nerwa and Kupvi, including the construction of a mini-secretariat, a milk chilling plant, a fire station, and infrastructure improvements in education and sports.

The Chief Minister inaugurated several road projects and laid foundation stones for upcoming infrastructure ventures. Chairman of the 7th State Finance Commission, Nand Lal, criticized the previous government for leaving behind liabilities affecting development.

Congress leader Rajneesh Kimta praised Sukhu's leadership during disasters and expressed gratitude for his dedication to Chopal's development. Other attendees included MLA Neeraj Nayyar, State Congress Committee General Secretary Yashpal Tanaik, and senior party officials, along with local government representatives and administrative officials.
