Mandi: Mandi iHub's Drone Didi program, recognized by the National Skill Development Corporation, was presented to President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu.
The initiative focuses on empowering women in agriculture through drone automation, aligning with the Prime Minister’s NaMo Drone Didi initiative. The program, tailored for women in Himachal Pradesh, emphasizes Agri Drone Applications.
Representatives from IIT Mandi iHub, including CEO Mr. Somjit Amrit and beneficiary Ms. Shashi Bala, showcased the success at the inauguration ceremony of the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship's ‘Kaushal Bhavan’ in New Delhi.
The program provides theoretical and practical training on drone flying, agricultural drone applications, entrepreneurship, mentorship, and market linkages.
Hon’ble President Smt. Droupadi Murmu praised the initiative for transforming agriculture through technology, fostering inclusivity. CEO Mr. Somjit Amrit expressed the program's significance as a catalyst for change, aiming to expand it nationally.
Supported by the Agriculture Skill Council of India, the first batch is underway at IIT Mandi, providing On-The-Job opportunities to participants like Ms. Shashi Bala, who shared her positive experience and newfound skills in drone applications and business.
