SHIMLA: Best Feature Film to "Nargesi" from Iran, Best Short Film to "Roya" from Afghanistan, and Best Documentary to "Seven Thousand Souls" from the Czech Republic stole the limelight at the 9th International Film Festival of Shimla (IFFS) concluded here today.
The award ceremony was chaired by the Governor of Himachal Pradesh, Shri Shiv Pratap Shukla.
According to press release, the festival featured a diverse selection of films from 20 countries and 24 Indian states, including shorts, documentaries, and feature films.
Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla commended the filmmakers for their dedication to storytelling and highlighted the role of cinema in promoting cultural exchange and understanding among nations.
Festival Director Pushp Raj Thakur expressed his excitement about the event, emphasizing its role in celebrating the art of cinema from India and abroad.
The festival is organized annually by Himalayan velocity in association with the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and the Language Art and Culture Department of the Government of Himachal Pradesh.
However the award money, if any, was not disclosed in the press release.
