KEYLONG: Travel plans on hold! Heavy snowfall in Lahaul-Spiti has turned the Manali-Leh Highway into an icy obstacle course, prompting authorities to advise against travel.
For the past 8–9 hours, no vehicles have managed to cross from Leh to Manali, leaving travelers stranded and roads treacherously unsafe.
There are incidents of car skidding on the slippery icy road here for the last 24 hours, informed police officers on duty.
Tourism will pick up as snow is a great attraction for tourists and so is the great chill of Lahaul Spiti.
However Police’s Advisory is obvious.
1. Avoid Travel: Stay off the roads until further notice.
2. Stay Informed: Monitor updates on road conditions and weather.
3. Safety First: Risking the icy terrain isn't worth it
