Palampur: In placid environs of Palampur, beneath a freezing, cloudy sky, the veteran paragliding pilot from Manali, Roshan Thakur, embarked on a mesmerizing adventure ahead of the proposed world Cup here in the near future.
It was a Saturday, a day destined for thrilling highs as he harnessed the chilling thermals that soared over the majestic Dhauladhars, carrying him across the Barot valley and beyond the towering peaks of the Dhauladhar range.
Roshan, an experienced aviator, ascended to an astounding 4600 meters, vanishing into the ethereal world of clouds, leading the way for what would soon to be the proposed World Cup of paragliding.
As he glided through the heavens, Roshan found himself in a world that only the daring few could fathom.
He was up there, racing the clouds, the scintillating sentinels of the Dhauladhars standing guard, and the icy thermals sweeping the skies, like nature's own rollercoaster.
"It is very cold up here, but simply amazing," he exclaimed, his voice carried away by the wind.
His paraglider remained aloft for what felt like an eternity, dancing with the elements before gracefully descending to the launch site.
The Bir-Billing, a place known for its paragliding prowess, bore witness to this breathtaking spectacle.
Over 459 paragliding pilots, eager and adventurous, scanned the skies during the pre-World Cup competition.
They watched in awe as Roshan Thakur defied gravity and soared through the clouds, an embodiment of the magic that awaited in the historic Kangra Valley of Himachal Pradesh, in the bewitching Billing paragliding hub.
The stage was set, and the world would soon witness the grandeur of paragliding like never before here sooner than later in 25 or 2026 season.
