SHIMLA:  It  was a heartwarming ceremony at the Vidhan Sabha today, commemorating the 117th Birth Anniversary of 'Himachal Nirmata' and the first Chief Minister, Dr. Yashwant Singh Parmar.

The event paid tribute to the extraordinary life and contributions of the man who shaped the destiny of Himachal Pradesh.

As the Speaker of the Vidhan Sabha, Kuldeep Singh Pathania, addressed the audience, he eloquently recounted the journey of the state, crediting Dr. Parmar for his indelible mark on its history. Dr. Parmar was hailed as the architect of Modern Himachal Pradesh, and his efforts in promoting horticulture, rural infrastructure, and the overall development of the state were applauded.

"He was a visionary leader and a messiah for the poor and desolate," said the Speaker, acknowledging Dr. Parmar's relentless advocacy for the upliftment of the people. The occasion was graced by Dr. Parmar's grandson, Anand Parmar, and Great Grandson Yashasvi Singh Parmar, who were special invitees.

Their presence added a personal touch to the commemoration, reminding everyone of the profound legacy left by their ancestor.

Former Chief Minister and Leader of the Opposition  Jai Ram Thakur also paid his respects, admiring Dr. Parmar's inspirational journey of transforming the rugged mountains into a habitable and well-developed state. He emphasized that the contributions of the great leader would never be forgotten.

Industries and Parliamentary Affairs Minister, Harshwardhan Chauhan, spoke passionately about the legacy of Dr. Y.S. Parmar, specifically mentioning his influence in horticulture, education, road development, and infrastructure. Under his guidance, Himachal Pradesh transformed into a model of holistic and linear development.

A documentary, produced by the Information and Public Relations department, shed light on the life and legacy of Dr. Parmar, further strengthening the emotional connect with the audience.

The event also witnessed esteemed dignitaries, including political leaders, ministers, and officials, offering their floral tributes to Dr. Parmar at the historic Ridge in Shimla. A touching photo exhibition, curated by the Himachal Photo Gallery, showcased the profound impact of Dr. Parmar on the state's development.

The evening concluded with a heartfelt musical tribute, where artists from Information and Public Relations showcased Dr. Parmar's enduring presence in the hearts of the people.

The celebration served as a fitting tribute to the visionary leader, Dr. Yashwant Singh Parmar, whose life and work continue to inspire and guide the progress of Himachal Pradesh. As the state looks forward to a brighter future, it also cherishes the rich legacy of its founding father, who dedicated his life to the service of the people.
