SHIMLA: Three persons including a Panchayat Up-Pradhan were killed and two others were injured in a road accident that took place at Khabal in Chirgaon tehsil of Rohru subdivision, Shimla District on July 21.
Three victims have been identified as Up-Pradhan of Khabai Panchayat, Prithvi Raj, Anil Ghamtiyan, Satya Prakash, ex-Up Pradhan. They were killed on the spot, but two local youths of 17, 18 years age escape with minor injuries.
They were returning home from the market when the accident took place. The entire village was in shock.
According to the police, accident occurred near Khabal village when the vehicle they were traveling in veered off the road and plunged into a gorge, resulting in an immediate fatality of three individuals.
The two injured passengers were rushed to the nearest hospital, where they are currently receiving treatment.
Reports indicate that their condition is serious but stable, as confirmed by the local police.
Expressing his condolences, Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh expressed profound sorrow over the loss of three lives and offered prayers for the swift recovery of the injured victims.
