Keylong: Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu inaugurated the Lahaul Sharad Utsav, a two-month traditional winter festival celebrating the vibrant culture of Lahaul & Spiti district.
Highlighting the region's hospitality and cultural richness, the festival offers various activities including snow sports and culinary competitions.
During the event, the Chief Minister announced the development of five new tourist destinations and launched the 'Discover Lahaul Spiti' mobile application, integrating AI to assist tourists.
Additionally, he laid the foundation stone for 11 development projects totaling Rs. 70.07 crore, focusing on road upgradation, water supply schemes, and establishment of a command and control center for district Police Lahaul Spiti.
The Command and Control Centre, built at a cost of Rs. 1.25 crore, aims to enhance security with expanded CCTV coverage in border areas and tourist destinations.
This initiative underscores the government's commitment to promoting tourism, preserving cultural heritage, and ensuring safety in the region.
