Hamirpur/Kangra: A tragic accident claimed the lives of two devotees from Choti Dolly village in Baijnath tehsil, Kangra, while 11 others sustained injuries when a Tempo Traveler from Himachal Pradesh collided with a parked truck on the Bundelkhand Expressway in Uttar Pradesh early this morning.

The vehicle, carrying 13 devotees, including the driver, was returning from the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj when the crash occurred near Chilli village under Rath police station limits in Hamirpur district, UP.

The injured have been rushed to the nearest hospital, and the Himachal Pradesh government is in constant touch with UP authorities to ensure the best possible treatment for them.

Expressing grief over the tragedy, Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu extended condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured.
"May the Almighty grant peace to the departed souls and strength to their families in this hour of grief," the CM said.
