Uttarakhand Bids Farewell to Five Martyrs
Dehradun: In a solemn ceremony held at Jolly Grant Airport, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami paid tribute to the five brave soldiers from Uttarakhand who were martyred while on duty in Kathua, Jammu & Kashmir.
The Chief Minister laid wreaths on the martyrs' bodies and expressed his deep condolences.
CM Dhami said, "The entire nation will always remember our immortal martyrs who achieved supreme sacrifice while defending the country.
You are the pride of the military land of Uttarakhand, and we, the people of the state, are immensely proud of you."
The mortal remains of martyr Anand Singh Rawat from Rudraprayag today reached Kanda village, leaving his family in tears.
Thousands of people from the entire district bid a tearful farewell to their martyr.
Their bodies were cremated with full honours today in their respective villages.
