New Delhi, Feb 11 – Union Home Minister Amit Shah chaired a high-level meeting in the capital to assess the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir, reinforcing the Centre’s commitment to a ‘terror-free J&K’ under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.

Top security officials, including the Union Home Secretary, Directors of Intelligence Bureau (IB), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), and Border Security Force (BSF), were present at the meeting, which follows similar reviews held with the Indian Army and J&K Police on February 4 and 5.

Shah directed the BSF to ensure zero infiltration along the international borders by strengthening the border grid and deploying advanced surveillance technologies.

He also emphasized enhanced coordination between the CRPF, Indian Army, and J&K Police to maintain strict area domination—especially in Jammu’s higher reaches.

The Home Minister reviewed the intelligence network in J&K, calling for increased penetration and use of technology to generate real-time, high-quality intelligence. He stressed the importance of curbing terror financing and narco-terrorism, terming them as key priorities in dismantling the region’s terror ecosystem.

To counter anti-India propaganda, Shah directed agencies to step up public outreach and ensure an accurate narrative reaches the people.

He reiterated the need for all security forces to stay alert and operate in synergy, assuring that all necessary resources would be made available to achieve the government’s ‘Zero Terror Plan’ in the region.
