Leading a delegation, he met Chamba Deputy Commissioner and submitted a memorandum demanding that fire-affected families in Bharmour receive ₹7 lakh compensation—on par with the aid granted to victims of the Tandi village fire in Kullu district.

"The Himachal government displayed sensitivity by granting ₹7 lakh each to families devastated by the massive fire in Tandi, Kullu. I wholeheartedly appreciate this step," said Janak Raj.

"However, the same government cannot have different standards for different regions.

Families in Pangi and Holi, who lost everything in recent fire incidents, deserve the same support. Why should they be treated differently?"

Janak Raj warned that any regional bias in relief distribution would breed resentment.

"The government must act fairly and ensure uniformity in disaster relief policies. We urge immediate financial aid for these affected families so they can rebuild their lives," he added.

The memorandum included a list of 13 affected families and urged authorities to raise the matter with the state government on priority.
