Vikramaditya Chairs meeting of BhimaKali trust at Sarahan

Singh, while addressing a meeting, announced the construction of Gau Sadans (cow shelters) in Rohru and Nirath to provide protection and care for stray cattle in the region.

“The Trust’s income is being used for several development projects, including the Gau Sadans, with an aim to preserve our rich traditions and promote public welfare,” Singh said.

He added that his father, the late Virbhadra Singh, had established the trust to serve both religious and social causes.

The Trust has spent Rs 83.81 lakh on various projects, and it currently holds Rs 6.95 crore in fixed deposits.

Singh emphasized that Rs 1.50 crore will be allocated for temple repairs and construction in the upcoming financial year.

The meeting also discussed the restoration of the Bhima Kali Temple, which has been facing structural issues for years.

The Public Works Department (PWD) was instructed to collaborate with IIT Mandi for an expert report on the temple's tilting section.

Additionally, the Trust approved several key projects, including the beautification of the temple complex and the installation of iron grills around the Ayodhyanath Temple.

Improvements to staff benefits were also sanctioned, providing better medical and retirement allowances for temple employees.

Singh further highlighted that Rs 55 crore has been sanctioned for the construction of the Tikker-Khamadi road under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana.

This road project is expected to begin in January 2024.
