Manish Garg at Dharamshala Cricket Stadium

In an effort to encourage and educate voters about their rights, the Chief Electoral Officer of Himachal Pradesh, Maneesh Garg, unveiled a theme song during an Indian Premier League (IPL) match between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Punjab Kings (KXI) at Dharamshala stadium.

The song, composed by the renowned Himachal Police band 'Harmony of Pines,' was showcased on the stadium's big screen, reaching not only the spectators but also viewers across the nation.

The song, presented in 10 different Indian languages, was filmed at various iconic locations in Himachal Pradesh and other parts of the country, aiming to promote voter participation in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections scheduled for June 1, 2024. This initiative falls under the Systematic Voter’s Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) program, guided by the Election Commission of India (ECI).

CEO Maneesh Garg emphasized the department's commitment to raise voter awareness and ensure maximum participation in the elections.

The Election Commission has been actively engaged in mobilizing and encouraging people to vote, with previous initiatives such as the widely acclaimed 'Vote Karo, Matdaan Karo' theme song for the 2022 assembly elections, which garnered over 2.5 million views on YouTube."
