The functioning of private medical colleges here also raises serious questions.

ED Hyderabad has recently attached assets worth ₹5.34 crore.

These belong to private medical colleges accused of blocking seats for PG medical admissions. The colleges used this scam to exploit students for hefty fees.

Such scams are not limited to admissions. These colleges often manipulate hospital records during inspections in states like Himachal Pradesh.

They allegedly forge patient data to create a false image of quality. This deception is aimed at impressing regulators. It compromises both medical education and patient care, revealed the insiders.

The role of the National Medical Commission (NMC) is also under scrutiny. It must take stricter actions to regulate private medical colleges. The hefty fees and dubious practices must be checked, demanded the members of the IMA.

Hospitals under these colleges need stricter monitoring.

The ED’s crackdown highlights a larger issue. Medical education, meant to serve society, has turned into a money-making racket in many private medical colleges.

"Students are exploited. Patients are misled. The entire system’s credibility is at stake", pointed the health experts.

The NMC must step up now. It needs to enforce transparency in admissions. It must ensure hospitals meet genuine standards. The time for leniency is over. The future of medical education depends on swift and decisive action.
