HGVS Foundation day in Shimla

The event was held at the Science Auditorium of Himachal Pradesh University. Volunteers from across the state participated with great enthusiasm.

Senior volunteers above 80 years of age were honored with the Gyan Vigyan Samman. Founding members like Dr. Kuldeep Singh Tanwar, Dr. Kulvinder Singh, and Joginder Walia were also felicitated with mementos.

Padma Shri awardees Dr. Omesh Bharti and Nek Ram Sharma attended as special guests. They were recognized for their outstanding contributions.

The Mandi Literacy and Public Development Committee was also awarded for its work in the social sector.

State Secretary Satyawan Pundeer addressed the gathering.

He said, “Our energy and enthusiasm grow when we uplift each other. Our strength lies in our legacy and teamwork.”

Four generations of leaders came together to celebrate the event.

Founding President Dr. Tanwar stressed the need to work on key issues. These include education, scientific awareness, the environment, health, gender equality, and substance abuse among youth.

Dr. P.C. Negi appreciated the Samiti’s efforts. “The Samiti can effectively address critical health and environmental challenges,” he said.

State Vice President Jianand Sharma thanked all participants and supporters. He acknowledged the efforts of units from Mandi, Kullu, Solan, and Shoghi.

He also thanked the Multi-Specialty Hospital in Sanjauli, Lok Sanskritik Manch, and local councilor Virender Thakur for their support.

The event also featured cultural performances. It highlighted the Samiti’s commitment to social development.
