DHARAMKOT, SEPTEMBER 14: Kangra Police busted an rave party at EDM Hostel in Upper Dharamkot during the intervening night of September 13-14, recovering  various types of narcotics and registering a case under the NDPS Act.

Acting on secret information, a police team from McLeodganj Police Station raided the hostel in the early hours of Monday and recovered 0.95 gram of chitta, 3.7 grams of opium, 1.33 grams of charas and 1.54 grams of ganja/cannabis flowers.

As part of the proceedings, 15 persons were medically examined by the police.

A case has been registered against Aamir Khan, 35, a resident of Madhya Pradesh presently staying at the EDM premises, and Radhesh Ranjan Pajoria, 37, the alleged leaseholder/owner of EDM Hostel.

Rave party  hosted at hostel

Preliminary investigation has indicated that the hostel owner/leaseholder was allegedly hosting rave parties at the premises on September 13 and 14.

Police intervention disrupted the gathering and, according to investigators, prevented further illegal activity.

The investigation has also found that the parties were  being promoted through social media platforms and closed online groups. Police have collected screenshots and other digital material as evidence, while verification of the electronic evidence is continuing.

The action comes as Himachal Pradesh Police intensifies its campaign against drug possession, supply and consumption, particularly at establishments allegedly being used to facilitate such activities.

Kangra Police said stringent legal action would be taken not only against those possessing or supplying drugs but also against persons or establishments found facilitating or promoting drug-related activities.

The investigation into the Dharamkot rave party and the digital trail linked to its promotion is underway.
