The doctors have also been barred from seeking re-appointment in the future. The chamiana is the part of the IGMC, Shimla.

Officials said the action was taken after the doctors allegedly abandoned their posts without securing mandatory approval from the State Government.

Later they  failed to provide satisfactory replies to show-cause notices. Their dismissal has been ordered under Rule 19 of the CCS (CCA) Rules, 1965.

Health Secretary  said they included Dr. Kunal Mahajan, Assistant Professor (Cardiology) Dr. Naveen Kumar, Assistant Professor (Paediatrics) Dr. Tushar Patil, Assistant Professor (Plastic Surgery) and Dr. Vikas Kumar, Assistant Professor (CTVS).

They stopped reporting for duty after serving briefly following their appointments. Their prolonged absence severely hit patient care and disrupted academic activities for UG and PG medical students, officials claimed.

The move has sparked concern within the medical fraternity, with services in the Super Speciality Hospital already under pressure.

The Himachal Pradesh Medical Faculty Association has yet to respond to the suspension of the four doctors, even as the healthcare system struggles to cope with the sudden shortfall.
