HPCMflags off Police bullets in Shimla

SHIMLA: Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, Shri Sukhwinder Singh Thakur, today dedicated 25 Bullet Enfield motorcycles to the Traffic Department for road safety and accident prevention.

This initiative is part of a World Bank-sponsored scheme to strictly enforce traffic rules.

Extensive use of digital technology is included in this scheme, featuring modern barricades, alco sensors, speed radars, ITMS (Integrated Traffic Management System), and CCTV cameras.

Additional motorcycles, four-wheelers, interceptor vehicles, and recovery vehicles will be procured in August.

The first phase allocates these motorcycles to Shimla and Nurpur districts.

The procurement process for vehicles and equipment for Kangra and Mandi districts will be completed soon.

The Chief Minister stated that these motorcycles will play a crucial role in reducing road accidents.

Himachal Pradesh Police remains committed to continuously preventing and addressing road accidents, said DGP.
