Mandi– IIT Mandi has made history by becoming the first IIT to introduce a five-year Integrated MBA program.

This unique program, combining a BBA in Analytics (Honors) and an MBA in Data Science & AI, is offered by the School of Management and aims to equip students with top-tier skills in management, analytics, data science, and more.

Prof. Laxmidhar Behera, Director of IIT Mandi, highlighted the importance of the program, stating, "As businesses increasingly rely on data and AI for decision-making, there's a growing demand for leaders who understand these technologies. Our new IMBA program is designed to meet this demand."

The curriculum includes foundational courses in management, analytics, and communication, with advanced courses in the later years.

The program also integrates subjects from humanities, communication, and Indian knowledge systems for well-rounded development.

Prof. Aniruddha Chakraborty, Dean Academics, emphasized the program's transformative nature, "We aim to produce graduates with a comprehensive skill set, ready to excel in today's dynamic business environment."

Students will earn two degrees upon completion: BBA Analytics (Honors) and MBA DS&AI.

The program also offers exit options after three or four years, awarding a BBA Analytics or BBA Analytics (Honors) degree, respectively.

Prof. Manoj Thakur, Chairperson of the School of Management, noted, "This program is structured to prepare students for management careers straight out of school, emphasizing both technological proficiency and social awareness."

The IMBA program includes two industry internships, with one lasting six months, providing substantial business exposure. It also supports entrepreneurial ambitions, offering access to IIT Mandi's incubation center and the option for a one-year sabbatical for startup ventures.

This innovative program provides a direct pathway for young aspirants to pursue a management career right after completing their 10+2 education.
