Shimla – An elderly mentally ill man has been spending nights in the freezing cold at Talland bus stop. Umang Foundation president Prof. Ajay Srivastava has urged Shimla SP to rescue him under the Mental Healthcare Act 2017.

"It’s the police’s duty to act under this law, as per Himachal High Court rulings," Srivastava said.

The man, claiming to be from Panipat, only repeats, "I'm hungry, please give me food." Locals gave him blankets, but his condition remains critical.

Prof. Srivastava has demanded immediate police action, and SP Sanjeev Gandhi has assured a response.
