Judge has also imposed a fine of Rs 25,000 in FIR No. 34/22 under sections 376, 506 of the IPC and section 6 of the POCSO Act in the case Government vs Subhash Chand.

Additionally, under section 506 of IPC, he was sentenced to 6 months rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs 1,000, with a compensation of Rs 2 lakh also being issued to the victim.

Highlighting the grim reality of the case, District Attorney Sangeeta Justa stated, "On 3rd December 2021, the victim, while on her way to school, was brutally assaulted by the accused, Subhash Chand, who, shockingly, was her maternal grandfather.

Subhash Chand raped her in the forest and menacingly threatened her with dire consequences if she dared to speak out."

On 12th December 2021, Subhash Chand once again subjected the victim to unspeakable trauma by forcibly dragging her into his house and raping her twice  court observed. .

The trauma inflicted upon the victim was compounded when medical examinations revealed she was six months pregnant."

Throughout the trial, the prosecution, led by Mrs. Sangeeta Justa, Deputy District Attorney, meticulously presented a case supported by the testimony of 17 witnesses.

The conviction of the accused for these egregious offenses sends a strong message that perpetrators of such despicable acts will be brought to justice.
