six Congress Disqualified MLAs

The six rebel Congress MLAs, along with three independents, who have been encamping in Uttarakhand, have not received any respite from the Supreme Court thus far.

The matter remained unadmitted as their lawyer Harish Salve couldn't appear, sources revealed.

The Speaker of the HP Vidhana Sabha had disqualified the six rebel Congress MLAs after they voted in favor of the BJP candidate  by invoking anti-defection law.

But they were accused of defying the whip issued by the Congress to vote on a cut motion and the passing of the budget. The six disqualified MLAs move the Supreme Court against this.

The MLAs had accused of the Sukhu government of  ignoring them and not paying heed to their grievances.

The Supreme Court has adjourned the hearing till Monday with no significant relief for the disqualified MLAs.

In the midst of high political drama in Himachal Pradesh that unfolded after the Rajya Sabha elections, where the Congress lost, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has been criticizing the disobedient MLAs, along with the BJP, both at the state and central levels, accusing them of destabilizing the democratically elected government.
