The environmentalist Anup Nautiyal in his video message has called citizens and political leaders to unite and save nearly six thousand Deodar trees.
People are preparing to gather at Bhaironghati in Uttarkashi.
They will perform puja and tie sacred threads to the trees to shield them from the axe.
The citizens surge is growing fast and organisers say this could become one of the biggest people powered forest protection movements in the state.
The event will take place on Sunday December 7 2025.
