PWD officials meeting in Shimla

During the meeting, the minister took stock of the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY).

He announced that 23 roads and 22 bridges have been greenlit under the third phase of the PMGSY.

Singh emphasized that while tenders for four roads have already been awarded, the remaining 19 will follow suit shortly.

He urged officials to ensure that all road construction under this phase is wrapped up by June 2025.

Similarly, he pressed for the tenders for the 22 bridges to be finalized soon, with a target to complete them by December 2025.

Singh also noted that the first and second phases of the PMGSY are nearly complete. 

The meeting also reviewed the progress of various projects under the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI).

Singh provided guidelines to expedite these key projects, stressing the need for a dedicated meeting to accelerate their completion.

He highlighted that under the Central Road Infrastructure Fund Scheme, 191 projects worth ₹2,097 crore have been approved. Out of these, 143 projects have been completed, with ₹861 crore spent so far.

Chief Parliamentary Secretary Sanjay Awasthi, Secretary of Public Works Abhishek Jain, and other key officials were also present, contributing valuable insights to the discussions.
