Shimla: In a significant move aimed at strengthening the dairy sector, a  Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed to improve milk collection, processing and marketing in the state.

MoU was signed by MILKFED with National Dairy Development Board, Anand in the presence of CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu here today.

The partnership is expected to streamline the dairy value chain and ensure better infrastructure for procurement and distribution of milk and milk products.

Officials said the initiative is part of the government’s effort to empower farmers and livestock rearers by ensuring they receive the full value of their hard work.

Strengthening the dairy sector is also expected to enhance farmers’ incomes and provide a stable source of livelihood in rural areas.

The move is likely to give a fresh push to the rural economy by creating stronger market linkages and improving processing capacity in the dairy sector.
