Harmony in Hues: A Must-Visit Art Exhibition at Shimla’s Gaiety Theatre
SHIMLA: If you haven’t yet visited the “Harmony in Hues” art exhibition at the historic Gaiety Theatre on The Mall in Shimla, you’re truly missing out!
This unique event has become the talk of the town, attracting not only locals and tourists but also foreign visitors, all of whom have been captivated by the beautiful art on display.
Organized by Garima Lohumi, a talented and emerging artist, the exhibition showcases her incredible journey with art, which she began during the Covid pandemic.
Since then, Garima hasn’t looked back, with her work gaining recognition both within Himachal Pradesh and beyond. Her deep love for nature shines through her creations, each piece speaking volumes about her passion and talent.
"I was a art lover since my childhood and I used to do painting off and on. But it was lately that I tried it on a large scale and got all assistance from my father and may family members", said Garima, whose father Rakesh Lohumi is a veteran journalist.
Some of her paintings are on high demand as visitors are placing more demand. She uses acrylic colours and cloth for her painting.
Mr. Pankaj Lalit, Director of Art, Culture, and Languages inaugurated the exhibition. He had high praise for Garima’s efforts and her innovative approach to art.
He even penned his thoughts in the visitor’s book, noting how her talent goes beyond traditional canvas paintings.
Garima’s brand, “Himalayan Canvas,” includes unique hand-painted mobile phone covers, epoxy-coated wooden wall hangings, fridge magnets, key rings, and exclusive art-printed T-shirts and tote bags.
This exhibition, which started on November 15, will run until November 17, 2024.
