Anurag Thakur Hits Back at Priyanka Gandhi: "Old Promises Unfulfilled, Here to Deceive Again". Rahul and Sukhu are exhausted, she is here, Anurag says...

UNA / HAMIRPUR: Union Minister and BJP candidate from Hamirpur Lok Sabha constituency, Anurag Singh Thakur, sharply criticized Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi during her rally in Una.

Thakur accused Priyanka of announcing new promises while failing to fulfill old ones.

"Priyanka Gandhi has returned to deceive the people of Himachal again without delivering on her previous guarantees," Thakur said.

"Sukhu and Rahul Gandhi are exhausted from making false promises, so now they've sent Priyanka to fool the people once more."

Thakur pointed out that the women of Himachal Pradesh had high hopes that Priyanka would address the Rs 1500 per month promise made 16 months ago, but she avoided the topic and instead presented a new list of false promises.

"The people, feeling betrayed for the last 16 months, are now angry and will vote to wipe out Congress on June 1," he stated.

Speaking at multiple public meetings in Gagret, Haroli, Una, and Kutlehar, Thakur presented the achievements of the Modi government and criticized the Congress for its failures.

He said, "Congress only wants to grab power. Once in power, they forget about the people. Himachal Pradesh has suffered for the last 16 months under their rule."

Thakur further said, "Priyanka Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi made big promises and guarantees during the assembly elections 16 months ago, but none have been fulfilled".

"Now, during the Lok Sabha elections, they are relying on the same lies. This is why they are set to win fewer than 40 seats in 2024."

Taking a dig at Priyanka Gandhi's slogan "Ladki Hoon, Lad Sakti Hoon" (I'm a girl, I can fight), Thakur said, "Priyanka Gandhi doesn't see the atrocities on women in Bengal or Karnataka because of vote bank politics.

She ignores the harassment of a woman MP by her allies. Priyanka should change her slogan to 'Ladki Hoon, Par Lad Nahin Sakti' (I'm a girl, but I can't fight)."

Thakur praised Prime Minister Modi for empowering women over the past decade.

"Modi ji has given a new dimension to women's empowerment by passing the historic Nari Shakti Vandan Act, providing 33% reservation for women in legislatures.

During Dhumal ji's government in Himachal, women received 50% reservation in Panchayati Raj institutions. The BJP also offers 25% reservation for women in its organization."

He highlighted the achievements under Modi's leadership, such as electing a poor tribal woman as the country's President, having a female Finance Minister for the past decade, and significant benefits for women through welfare schemes.

"Over 50% ownership of houses built under the PM Awas Yojana is with women. Modi ji provided 11 crore free LPG connections and 13 crore tap water connections, improving the lives of rural women," he said.

Thakur also noted the role of women in India's advancements.

"Our women scientists contributed to making India the first country to reach the Moon's south pole. India has the most women pilots in the world. Our daughters now wield AK-47s and guard the nation," he added.

Thakur's comments come amid accusations from Priyanka Gandhi, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, and Deputy CM Mukesh Agnihotri  supporting their candidate Satpal Raizada Una, who have targeted Thakur for being an MP for over 15 years and facing anti-incumbency sentiments.

Despite this, Thakur confidently highlighted BJP's development record and urged the people to vote for continued progress.
