Shimla: BJP will adopt an aggressive stance over the " reversal of schemes of the Jai Ram Thakur government" by the Sukhu government in the upcoming assembly session this month".
BJP legislative group held a meeting at Willie Park under the leadersuhip of Leader of the Opposition Jai Ram Thakur. BJP state president Dr. Rajeev Bindal was also present at the meeting.
BJP MLA Randhir Sharma shared that a condolence resolution was passed in memory of those who lost their lives in recent disasters. The resolution expressed deep sorrow over the calamities, and a two-minute silence was observed.
He also mentioned that the legislative group now comprises 25 to 28 MLAs. They expressed gratitude to the public for the BJP's significant victory in the Lok Sabha elections and congratulated PM Modi on becoming the Prime Minister for the third time.
During the meeting, there was extensive discussion regarding the upcoming assembly session.
Sharma criticized the Congress government's reversal of all welfare decisions taken by Jairam Thakur’s BJP government, calling these actions detrimental to the state's interests.
He pointed out several anti-people decisions by the current government, such as imposing water charges in rural areas, increasing electricity rates, removing the 125-unit free electricity scheme, excluding the public from the Himcare scheme, raising HRTC travel fares, and retracting benefits provided to women.
He asserted that the BJP legislative group would be aggressive against Congress during the assembly session, and under Jairam Thakur's leadership, they would confront the Congress on every issue.
The meeting also honored three newly appointed MLAs, with Jairam Thakur and Rajeev Bindal presenting them with traditional Himachali caps, shawls, and flower bouquets.
