DHARAMSHALA: A week before the Sukhu government gears up to celebrate its three years in office at Mandi, the BJP on Wednesday mounted a fierce political offensive in Dharamshala, staging a massive anti-Congress rally under the banner “Vyavastha Patan ke 3 Saal”.
A large crowd filled the Zorawar Stadium as senior leaders — LoP Jai Ram Thakur, state BJP chief Rajiv Bindal ,Anurag singh Thakur Vipin Parmar Satpal Singh Satti Sudhur Sharma and others — accused the Congress of failing to fulfil its guarantees, pushing the state into a worsening financial crisis and leaving Himachal in a state of policy paralysis.
The BJP also hit out at the government for not holding panchayat polls on time, alleging that democracy at the grassroots had been “held hostage”.
They further attacked the Sukhu dispensation for “mitron ki sarkar style favoritism” in the distribution of disaster relief funds, claiming that genuine victims were left running from pillar to post.
Party leaders said the turnout itself reflected growing anger against what they termed a “system-collapsed regime”, insisting that people across the state had now “made up their mind for change”.
The rally came a day after ABVP workers clashed with the police in Dharamshala, adding fuel to the intensifying political atmosphere.
