MANDI: National Congress campaigner Priyanka Gandhi Vadra once again invoked former Prime Minister  "Indira Gandhi’s emotional connect with Himachal" on her Punya Teethi and Sardar Patel on his Jayanti today, and promised that Congress would restore old pension scheme, create one lakh jobs including filling up the vacant 63000 government jobs for a secure future of youth as  soon as it forms the government in the state".

Addressing her second Parivartan Sankalp rally in the temple town of Mandi, known as Chhoti Kashi in support of 10 Congress candidates of Mandi district on Monday, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra urged people of the state to support and vote for Congress.

She said BJP's ploy to "Change the 'Rivaj' campaign"   would be defeated  as people would be voting out the ruling party from power after five years on November 12. 

She hold Trishul presented to her by the HP Congress in Mandi after she made darshan of Baba Bhootnath.  

"People vote out those who donot perform and harm Janata  after every five years", she said. "The BJP government also did not do anything for the state for the last five years as farmers, women, youth employees are unhappy", she claimed. 

"There are no jobs, no pension and farmers are not getting prices for their produce and prices are touching the sky", Priyanka said.   

Priyanka Gandhi had addressed her first Parivartan Sankalp rally in Solan. Today She reiterated  and recalled the historic moments when the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi had created Himachal on snowy day in Shimla.

She also recalled how the then Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh opened schools and hospitals and there is a need to strengthen them.     

When late Indira Gandhi had come for conferring statehood to Himachal, many people questioned her for creating this state on grounds how the state would be run without resources. 

But Indira Gandhi was firm in her  conviction that she knew true potential of people of Himachal, she added.

She gave credit  to people of state- its youth, women, soldiers and farmers -who  built and developed Himachal as it is today.

She urged the people of  Himachal to assess the performance of the BJP government for the last five years. Congress has come out with 10 guarantees and committed to employees that Congress would restore the Old pension scheme as soon as it comes to power, she claimed.

Take jobless youth of Himachal. Over 63000 government posts are vacant in Himachal and the educated youth are unemployed going from pillar to post in search of jobs, she added. 

Congress would create one lakh jobs in the state  the first year securing future of youth in Himachal.  "We make promise and will fulfill them", she asserted. 

The farmers ere protesting as they are not getting prices for their crops. But the BJP government did not have time to talk to them and solve their problem, she said.  

BJP has started the Agniveer policy, but the soldiers would not get  pension  for serving the nation, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said.

She took a dig at the BJP government, cited the police recruitment constables recruitment scam. This scam hit the jobless youth badly, she claimed. 

Congress would float the  Rs 680 crore startup fund and youth will get  loans with zero per cent interest rate to start their own venture. "All companies will provide employment to youth of Himachal on priority, she added.

She said the OPS has been implemented in Congress ruled states and it would be done in Himachal as well.

Chhatisgarh Chief Minister and Chief of Himachal affairs Bhupesh Baghel attacked  the Jai Ram Thakur government saying that Jai Ram Thakur failed to improve condition of roads, could not build international airport, could not solve problems of the farmers,  He confined himself to to one area and neglected rest of the state, Baghel charged.

Baghel further  said Congress government in Chhattisgarh has all commitments made to the farmers and its people.

"We have waived off loans and paying Rs 2500 per kwintle as support price for the paddy growers" , he claimed. 

Talking about the tottering economy of Himachal, Baghel  said Himachal  is heavily burdened under debt as the BJP has failed to  save economy due to its wrong policies. 

Congress spokesperson Alka Lamba said the Jai Ram Thakur had seen the trailer in by-elections in 2021 when  Congress won all the four seats including Mandi Lok Sabha seat in Mandi, his home district.

On December 8 when the results would be out, BJP would see full film when Congress would win clear majority  and form the government, she claimed.   

HP Congress chief Pratibha Singh charged that the police constable recruitment paper was sold before the exam, it was not leaked. The people understand this and when Congress forms the government afterr elections, it would probe and bring the culprits to justice, she asserted.

She said Prime Minister Narendra Modi came to Himachal many a time, but he neither addressed the issue of unemployment nor did he say anything about the rising prices in the country. 

Chairman of Congress campaign committee Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, leader of opposition Mukesh Agnihotri, including  10 Congress candidate Kaul Singh Thakur, Sohan Lal Thakur, Prakash Chaudhary, Champa Thakur, Chander Shakher,  Chetram Thakur, Mahesh Raj, Surinderpal Thakur, Naresh Kumar, Daleep Thakur contesting the elections.   

They also addressed the rally saying the people of Himachal had already given their verdict in Kangra, Solan, Shimla and Mandi  in the last by-election in which Congress won all the four seats.
