CM Sukhu Questions Modi's Disaster Funding Claims for Himachal in Hamirpur... Jai Ram Thakur is spreading disinformation, says Sukhu...
HAMIRPUR: Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu has called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi to clarify the funding source for Himachal Pradesh's disaster relief efforts.
During public meetings in Sujanpur's Kot, Chauri, and Tauni Devi, Sukhu asserted that Himachal only received the standard NDRF and SDRF funds, not the Rs 9,900 crore claimed.
He challenged BJP leaders to provide details of any special relief funds granted by the central government.
Sukhu criticized Modi's statements about women not receiving the Rs 1,500 pension, attributing this misinformation to BJP leader Jairam Thakur.
He confirmed that women in Lahaul Spiti and other areas are indeed getting the pension. Sukhu accused Jairam of trying to block these payments through the Election Commission and urged BJP to stop obstructing the pension scheme.
He also targeted former Sujanpur MLA Rajendra Rana, accusing him of exploiting local mineral resources and neglecting his constituents.
Sukhu stated that Congress's candidate, Captain Ranjit, represents honesty and will address local issues if elected.
Addressing the controversy surrounding Hamirpur Medical College, Sukhu refuted BJP MP Anurag Thakur's claims, emphasizing the college's approval date as March 2014 under Congress.
He argued that if BJP had initiated the project, it would have been named after their leaders, not Congress figures.
At another rally in Dhaliyara, Sukhu accused independent MLA Hoshiar Singh of resigning after "selling his integrity" to BJP.
He highlighted Congress's achievements, including the OPS for employees and the Sukh Ashray Yojana for orphaned children, and urged voters to support Congress candidate Satpal Raizada.
Sukhu concluded by questioning the central government's support during Himachal's disaster and accused BJP leaders of lying and failing their constituents.
He called for a decisive vote against BJP, emphasizing Congress's commitment to the people of Himachal Pradesh.
