SHIMLA: State Congress President  and Mandi Lok Sabha MP, Pratibha Singh has urged the Election Commission to declare the date of elections in the state and implement the model code of conduct immediately. In statement issued here today, Pratibha Singh said  less than two months are left for the tenure of the BJP government in the state. But the BJP is openly misusing the power along with the government machinery for its political gains, she charged.

Expressing concern over spending crores of rupees on the hospitality of BJP central ministers and leaders on government expenditure, Pratibha Singh said that the Election Commission should take cognizance of this and immediately stop the misuse of government money and machinery.

Drawing the attention of the Election Commission in this context, she further said  along with the misuse of power, the BJP in the state is celebrating Amritmahotsav and openly using BJP banners in government functions.
She also has demanded a ban on this event from the Election Commission.  She has also asked the Election Commission to ensure strict adherence to the Model Code of Conduct in the state.

Pratibha Singh has asked the Election Commission to keep a close watch on the EVMs as well and strengthen its security so that no one can break into it or hack it.

She said that elections should be held simultaneously in the higher reaches of state before the possible snowfall in these high altitude areas.
