SHIMLA: Opposition Leader Jairam Thakur slams the Congress government, labeling it a failure in disaster management. Over 1000 government institutions have shuttered under their rule.
Addressing media here today Thakur, accompanied by spokesperson Balbir Verma, ex-president Suresh Kashyap, Karan Nanda, said the Sardar Patel University Mandi, once having affiliation of 140 colleges, now retains only a few from three districts.
Thakur criticized the Chief Minister's focus on headlines, highlighting the creation of a new posts in the Chief Minister's Office including OSDs, CPSs and others amid ongoing crises.
He pointed out excessive government expenses and plans for a hefty Rs 500 crore loan only show it is a government of mismanagement.
He said the State roads remain paralyzed, with no ground-level progress. While BJP members offer free JCB services to clear roads, a Congress minister restricts JCB use exclusively to their party. Thakur questions the eligibility criteria even during disasters.
Coordination within the government is in shambles, leading to conflicting disaster damage figures. Ration shortages have never plagued the state before, exacerbating public woes while diesel prices rise.
If the Chief Minister says something, then the ministers say something else, he charged.
