AGARTALA(Agencies and ECI inputs): The ruling BJP with its alliance with IPFT won 33 seats in Tripura thereby set to repeat its government in the Himalayan state. NDPP-BJP alliance won Nagaland. But in Meghalaya the voters gave a fractured mandate, with NPP emerging as the largest single party, which won 26 seats.
According to the ECI, and agencies' reports, in Tripura BJP-IPFT alliance has won 33 seats, two seats past the a magic figure of 31 to form the next government in state. BJP won 32 seats and IPFT won one seat.
Another regional party TIPRA Metha Party won 13, CPIM won 11, and Congress three seats.
Tripura Assembly has 60 seats and 31 is the magic figure to form the state government.
In Nagaland, BJP- NDPP alliance has won 37 seats out of 60 seats ousting NPF which could win just two seats in the assembly elections- 2023.
Congress could not open its account in Nagaland assembly elections.
There were a record number of independents/ Others who won 21 seats whereas there were just three in the last elections.
There are as many as 60 seats in the Nagaland assembly elections.
But in Meghalaya, NPP has surged ahead of other parties by winning 26 seats. UDP won 11, Congress and TMC won five seats each.
But BJP got battering in Meghalaya, as it could win just two seats.
There are 10 independents who ousted other candidates. They could aligned with the NPP or it could be NPP-UDP or NPP-Congress or TMC alliance as the voters have given a fractured mandate this time, the sources said.
