BJP’s Chief Rajeev Bindal

Congress Government a 'Family and Friends' Government: Dr. Rajeev Bindal

Shimla – BJP state president Dr. Rajeev Bindal criticized the current Congress government, labeling it as a "government of friends, by friends, and for friends."

Dr. Bindal remarked, "The Congress government has now added another dimension; it is no longer just a friends' government but has become a 'husband, wife, and friends' government."

He claimed that the government's focus is not on the public or even on the Congress party but solely on the interests of their family and friends. "This government is not for Congress, but for their own family and friends," he stated.

Dr. Bindal highlighted the ongoing by-elections in Dehra, Hamirpur, and Nalagarh. He criticized the Chief Minister's recent declaration of Dehra as a police district during these elections, calling it a violation of constitutional principles.

"Announcing a police district in Dehra amidst elections is like tearing up the pages of the Constitution," he said, questioning the Election Commission's neutrality and effectiveness in this context.

He questioned the motives behind the decision, hinting at favoritism towards the Chief Minister’s wife, who is contesting from Dehra.

"If the CM’s wife wasn't running from Dehra, would he still have declared it a police district?" Dr. Bindal asked.

He suggested that if the government was sincere, they would have made Dehra a full district instead.

Bindal accused the government of using these declarations to mislead the public and garner votes. He also pointed out that despite the CM's promises, nothing substantial has been done in Dehra or even in his home area, Nadaun.

"If the CM was so concerned about Dehra, there would have been a medical college or university by now," he noted.

He further criticized the government for neglecting pressing issues like water shortages, forest fires, increasing crime rates, and the unchecked drug mafia, accusing them of focusing only on election tactics.

"The state is suffering, and the government is busy with vote politics," he concluded.
