Shimla: Congress-led government, which has been in power for nearly 10 months, has taken a loan of almost 10,000 crore rupees, claims Dr. Rajiv Bindal, the state president of the Bharatiya Janata Party.

He stated that in the past 10 months, the Congress government in the state has shut down approximately 1500 institutions, claiming that the government lacks the funds to run them.

During these past 10 months, thousands of government employees have been laid off, citing the unavailability of salaries to pay them, Bindal said.

In contrast, the current government has not opened a single new hospital, school, or college, simply because it claims to lack the funds.

However, just this month, the government is taking a loan of 1,000 crore rupees, adding to the 9,000 crore rupees borrowed before, he added.

The question arises whether development has come to a halt, institutions are closing, and loans are piling up, he asked.

"If we calculate the average pace at which these loans are being taken, it comes to 1,000 crore rupees per month", he said.

Dr. Bindal pointed out that there are 60 months in 5 years, and at this rate, the total loan could amount to 60,000 crore rupees over five years.

This rapid pace of borrowing is happening without significant progress in development work.

If the Congress party wishes to fulfill its promises, they will need at least 50,000 crore rupees more in loans.

In this way, the Sukhdev Singh government, which is now borrowing double the debt compared to previous governments, including those led by the Congress party, is ironically ignoring the advice it used to give to others: "Preach to others what you practice yourself."

Dr. Bindal emphasized that today, they will once again ask others to take responsibility. They should fulfill the guarantees given to the public, he demanded.
