Tribal voters in Raran  in Kinnaur and  few villages in Lahaul valley boycotted the  Mandi Lok Sabha bypolls in protest   saying  that all their pleas on redressing their grievances have fallen on deaf ears of the successive governments. 

In Lahaul, the residents  said they sent memorandum to the DC and representatives for helicopter and health services in their panchayat of Jahalama, but nobody took notice. we have no option other than protest and boycott of polls, locals said.

The tribal in Rarang area of Kinnaur said they had to boycott polls as all their pleas to stop the construction of the power project in the eco sensitive area were not heard by the government. The project was damaging ecology and their bio resources and hence need to be abandoned, they claimed.
