Shimla: Himachal Pradesh BJP spokesperson, Chetan Bragta, has touted a recent survey, conducted through PLFS (Periodic Labour Force Survey), revealing a drastic drop in the unemployment rate in India.
But in Himachal it is other way round under the Sukhu government.
The survey reported that India's unemployment rate reached its lowest level in the past six years, with a mere 3.2% unemployment rate from July 2022 to June 2023.
During this period, urban unemployment rates increased by a significant 14% across India, with Himachal Pradesh leading the charge.
In comparison, the overall urban unemployment rate in India stands at approximately 6.6%.
Chetan Bragta attributed this decrease in unemployment to the policies and management of the Modi government. Under Prime Minister Modi's leadership, India has achieved its lowest unemployment rate in years.
While the central government has been actively working on lowering unemployment rates, Himachal Pradesh's state government has seemingly taken a different path.
The Congress party, along with Priyanka Gandhi, had promised to create one lakh jobs during the state's assembly elections, but so far, no significant efforts have been made in this direction. In fact, contractual employees have been laid off, and the results of the examinations conducted for job applicants have yet to be declared.
While the Modi government is committed to uplifting the youth, it appears that the Himachal Pradesh state government has not aligned with the same vision.
