He has caught her napping as she has yet to spell a clear cut road map for development of the temple town of Mandi, a hub of the Central region of Himachal Pradesh.
MANDI: In a bold move that has stirred the political landscape of Mandi, Lok Sabha candidate Vikramaditya Singh has unveiled his ambitious vision for the temple town, setting the stage for a showdown with Bollywood star and BJP figure Kangana Ranaut.
Heralding the legacy of his father, the late six-time Chief Minister Raja Virbhadra Singh, Vikramaditya Singh has emerged as a formidable contender, vowing to prioritize Mandi's development and prosperity.
Spelling out his vision, Singh emphasized the significance of Mandi not just as a parliamentary constituency but as the heart of the region.
He declared, "We are giving priority to the development work here. It also becomes our utmost responsibility."
Drawing inspiration from the Smart City initiatives in Dharamshala and Shimla, which get Rs 2000 crore Budget Singh pledged to secure smart city tag and budget for Mandi's expansion, renovation, and infrastructure development over the years.
"Our number one priority will be to transform Mandi into a Smart City," he affirmed.
Singh outlined an ambitious agenda that encompasses modernizing transportation with electric vehicles, installing escalators, creating skywalks, constructing underpasses, and foot overbridges.
He stressed the importance of upgrading the sewerage network to provide residents with essential amenities akin to those in larger cities.
With his sights set on victory, Singh's campaign has rattled Kangana Ranaut, who is yet to articulate her vision for Mandi.
He also mulled a plan to develop riverfront along the Beas river in the temple town to attract the tourists and beautify and protecting the town from the surging Beas.
Since the commencement of his campaigning, Singh has become the focal point of attention, promising to elevate Mandi to the forefront of Himachal Pradesh's development agenda.
In a direct challenge to Ranaut, Singh asserted, "Mandi will become Himachal's and parliamentary constituency will become the number one area in the country, I can say this to you with full confidence."
As the electoral battle heats up in Mandi, Vikramaditya Singh's vision for the temple town resonates with voters.
