Keylong: Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu today visited Keylong in Lahaul Spiti district, where he engaged with local Congress leaders, officials, and workers to gather feedback regarding the upcoming assembly elections.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said the deeply ingrained culture of integrity among the people of Lahaul Spiti, contrasting it with the alleged betrayal by the current MLA who defected to the BJP.
He said his commitment to fighting against corruption, mining mafia, land mafia, and drug addiction, stating that his mission transcends mere political ambition, aiming to serve the common man.
Sukhu highlighted the importance of the upcoming elections as a battle to uphold democracy against attempts by the BJP to subvert it through unethical means.
He urged the people to support the Congress party in the by-elections and reaffirmed his dedication to the development of Lahaul Spiti.
The Chief Minister also announced the Congress party's preparedness to field a candidate for the by-elections, presenting a panel of potential names including prominent local figures like Zilla Parishad Chairman Anuradha Rana and former MLA Radhuveer Thakur.
The final decision on the candidate will be made by the Congress high command.
