Chopal to Remember Brave Son Shaheed Attar Singh Rana Every Year with Fair at Dhar Chandna
Chopal, Sept 10: The hill town of Chopal bowed its head in pride and pain today as the statue of its brave son, martyr Attar Singh Rana of 28 Punjab Regiment, was unveiled at his native village Dhar Chandna by Chopal BJP MLA Balbir Verma.
Rana had laid down his life while guarding the nation’s borders, and his sacrifice has now been etched in stone for generations to see.
“This statue will remain a living sign of those who serve the country. A fair will be organized here every year to honor his memory,” MLA Verma announced after the unveiling.
The ceremony turned emotional as locals, family members, and villagers gathered to pay tribute to the soldier who never came back home but left behind a legacy of courage and sacrifice.
“We are proud of Shaheed Attar Singh Rana ji’s martyrdom, though the grief remains heavy in our hearts. His courage, loyalty, and ‘nation first’ spirit will always inspire our youth,” Verma said.
The MLA also added that not just Chopal, but the entire Himachal and the country will forever remain indebted to Rana’s supreme sacrifice.
With the promise of an annual fair, Dhar Chandna will now carry forward the legacy of its son — ensuring that the name of Attar Singh Rana remains immortal.
