Chennai, March 30: As students race to secure seats in premier institutions, Indian Institute of Technology Madras has opened applications for its M.Tech., M.Sc. and M.A. programmes for the 2026–27 academic session, offering a major opportunity for those aiming at advanced careers.
The last date to apply is April 27, 2026.
The institute is offering 34 M.Tech programmes (735 seats) in emerging and core areas like Data Science & AI, Electric Vehicles, Robotics, Aerospace and Semiconductor Technology, along with M.A. (100 seats) in English Studies, Economics, Development Studies and Public Policy, and M.Sc. courses in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
Who can apply?
GATE-qualified candidates (2024–2026), IIT graduates with 8.0+ CGPA, sponsored professionals, and defence candidates are eligible. M.Sc. admissions will be through JAM.
Admission timeline:
Offers will be released via COAP from the second week of May 2026, with reporting in July and classes starting July 27, 2026.
