63 Tourists Rescued in Janjheli as SDRF Swings into Action After Flash Floods
JANJHELI (MANDI), July 7: A swift and successful evacuation drive by Himachal Pradesh State Disaster Response Force (HP SDRF) saved the day for 63 stranded tourists in the Janjheli region, after flash floods triggered by torrential rain washed away roads and snapped connectivity.
According to officials, the sudden deluge damaged key road links, cutting off access to the picturesque but remote hill area.
With communication disrupted and rising water levels posing further threat, SDRF teams were rushed to the spot.
Led by trained personnel and aided by local administration, the SDRF launched a coordinated rescue operation.
All 63 tourists, including families and elderly individuals, were safely evacuated to a secure location.
The Chief Minister’s Office and senior officials, including Satwant Atwal and Arjit Sen, monitored the situation closely as rescue teams worked round the clock.
Locals lauded the SDRF's quick response, calling it a lifeline in the wake of nature’s fury.
