Kishan Kapoor (1952–2025): Veteran Himachal Leader Passes Away at 73
Shimla, February 1, 2025 – Former Himachal Pradesh minister and senior BJP leader Kishan Kapoor passed away at the age of 73 at PGI Chandigarh on Saturday morning.
A prominent figure in state politics, Kapoor dedicated his life to public service, leaving an indelible mark on Himachal’s political landscape.
Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla and Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu expressed deep sorrow over his demise, remembering him as a committed leader who worked tirelessly for the welfare of the people.
“Kishan Kapoor was a dedicated leader, and his contributions to the progress of Himachal Pradesh will always be remembered,” said Governor Shukla, extending his condolences to the bereaved family.
Chief Minister Sukhu highlighted Kapoor’s significant role in the development of Dharamshala and the Kangra Parliamentary constituency, stating that his efforts would be cherished for years to come.
Leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur said tge passing marks the end of an era in Himachal’s political history and is great loss to BJP.
