Shimla: In a tragic news Professor Simmi Agnihotri, the wife of Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri, succumbed to her illness while en route to Chandigarh for treatment. She was 56.
Her health condition had suddenly deteriorated, leading to her untimely demise.
Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri himself shared the heartbreaking news on social media during the late hours of the night.
Professor Simmi Agnihotri's unexpected passing has left a profound sense of loss among her family, friends, and the academic community.
Her mortal remains was kept for final respects at the family residence in Gondpur Jaichand, Astha Kunj, until 01:00 pm, after which funeral ttok place at Moksha Dham, Gondpur Jaichand (Haroli) on Saturday, the 10th of February.
Dr Simmi was a professor at the department of Public Administration, HPU University. Their only daughter Astha is pursuing her higher studies in Netherlands.
She airdashed to Una and performed last rites of her departed mother.

Mukesh Agnihotri was returning home after a Cabinet meeting in Shimla when he received the news of Simmi's illness.
Her book "Empowering Tribes, A Path Towards Sustainable Development" was released by Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla about three months ago.
She had a keen interest in social and religious activities.
