SHIMLA: Taking a swipe at Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur for traveling in the chopper, Aam Aadmi Party accused his government of turning a blind eye to the condition of roads in the state.

State Spokesperson, AAP,  Gaurav Sharma charged that the state roads are in bad condition and full of potholes or at worse the roads run in potholes. As a result, now tourists are also avoiding coming to Himachal, he claimed.

The party's state spokesperson said that the state government claims that the condition of the roads has been improved but the reality is that the condition of the roads is very pathetic, due to which road accidents are taking place every day and causing death of people.

Taking a dig at the CM, he said that CM Jai Ram Thakur is the Chief Minister with a helicopter and his  ministers  including  chief secretary are traveling in luxury vehicles, who do not think about common people. Wherever the CM goes, he travels only in a helicopter but never travels on the roads, but  CM should get down from the helicopter and walks on the roads through vehicles to know the pathetic condition of the roads in the state, AAP.

He said that now-a-days tourist season has started, in such a situation, thousands of tourists turn to Himachal, but seeing the condition of the roads here they are soured.

On one hand the condition of the roads remains pathetic and on the other hand the problem of traffic jam is increasing continuously.

The condition of roads in the state is very bad, whether look at the condition of Chandigarh to Shimla main national highway or look at the condition of Bilaspur to Shimla, Shimla-Kangra, Chandigarh to Mandi, main highways in the state, AAP said.

The condition of roads in rural areas of Himachal is even worse. Ask people who have vehicles, how much they spend on repair of vehicles every month.  “We want to ask CM Jai Ram Thakur that when will the condition of the roads improve. Will the condition of the roads improve in the election year or will you go out of track in the elections, AAP asked.

AAP warned the government that if the condition of the roads in the state does not improve soon, then the Aam Aadmi Party in Himachal will not hesitate to gherao the government by staging mass agitation. “In the coming days, the public will definitely answer the government for ignoring the farmers, gardeners and general public of the state by not improving the roads, AAP claimed.
