SHIMLA:  BJP state in-charge Avinash Rai Khanna today accused the  Congress of meting out  "social and political injustice to Babasaheb Ambedkar. Dr  Ambedkar is a representative name in modern Indian thinkers. He has been an eminent economist, legalist, politician and great social reformer, he said.

He said this today  in party statement while launching  his house to house contact programme. “India has been included in the first list of the builders of the nation. "The outline of India that we see today, it was also formed 75 years ago under the leadership of Babasaheb Rao Ambedkar. Babasaheb has given such a weapon to every citizen of this country, on the basis of which he can fight for his right”.

The name of that weapon is Constitution. Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar fought endless struggles in his journey from the fight of Dalit-oppressed, backward to becoming the first law minister of the country, but the Congress used them only politically, Khanna charged. He got a place in the Jawaharlal Nehru cabinet, but only because of the politics of cultivating the vote bank of the Dalits and backward, he claimed. 

Khanna said that soon after independence, a time came when Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar's stature and public admiration in the society had become bigger. "So panicked Nehru supporters conspired with Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar and deliberately defeated Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar twice in the general elections, Khanna charged.

He said that Babasaheb Ambedkar did not want Jammu and Kashmir to get special status. Article 370 and 35A should be imposed there,

but the then Nehru government went against the wishes of Babasaheb and imposed Article 370 on the country, he claimed.

The framer of the Constitution was given Bharat Ratna 34 years after his death.  That too by the BJP-backed National Front government, he said. Whereas in these 34 years, the government of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru to Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi was also there in the country.
Khanna said that 75 years have been completed since the independence of the country but in these 75 years not a single memorial of Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar was built by the Congress government. This work has also been started by the BJP government led by Narendra Modi.

The disturbing thing is that the Congress did not even allow the picture of Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar to be displayed in the Parliament. Whenever there was a demand to have Babasaheb's picture in Parliament, Congress insulted him by making excuse of not having the wall empty.

In 1989, when the BJP-backed National Front government was formed,

former prime ministers Atal Bihari Vajpayee and LK Advani took the initiative to get Babasaheb's picture installed in the central hall of Parliament.

Now when the BJP government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has tried to revive the memories, education and values ​​of Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar, then other opposition parties including Congress have got upset.
